Went to a store called Katie's formal wear, owned by a little Chinese lady and her pug.

At La Belle Elaine's. You should go here if you want to feel like a supermodel. They have a big, lighted runway in the middle of their store! (which I did not use). I also liked their nice big dressing rooms, but they also had very bright, unnatural lighting =\ The sales ppl weren't very helpful so I just tried to pin the dresses myself.

dress shopping

lessons learned:
- try not to shop for dresses during prom season. frantic high school girls & their mothers abound.
- check swatches before you fall in love with a dress. teal is a hard color to find!

teals that do look nice in person:
- dessy/after six - ocean blue
